In this talk, David and Scott will leverage their experiences having been through through multiple market cycles to discuss:

  • The current state and predictions of economic impact on corporate venture capital
  • Implications for existing corporate venture capital funds
  • Implications for new corporate venture capital funds

We'll also take your questions.

David and Scott are Co-Founders of Touchdown Ventures. Touchdown, which launched in 2014, manages professional corporate investment programs for partners like Kellogg, Allegion, and Avery Dennison, amongst many others. Both David and Scott have been through multiple market cycles. David joined Comcast Ventures in 2000 and started his corporate venture capital career during the 2000/2001 dot com implosion. Scott began his venture capital career in 1992 and has seen the impact of significant recessions as both an entrepreneur and as a venture capital investor.

David and Scott’s unique experiences should inform how you think about managing startup investments through and out of a recession. As they note, “corporates might have the greatest structural opportunity to stay in the game when it is most advantageous to do so.” This is that time.
